House in the Desert
What is the next housing typology defining the urban texture of Sandnes, answering the current tide of a declining oil industry, and a city adapting towards a normalized economic state? The urban texture is the generic mass of buildings in cities, defined by and based on local natural factors and conditions of life. The texture represents the ordinary and subtle mass of the city, and is not striving for beauty in individual objects. This architecture is only relevant when it is produced in great numbers and must be regarded as a mass development and treated systematically.
